Vayle Expands AMO Partnership to Strengthen Privacy Programs with PIA Software
Vayle Inc. is pleased to announce the expansion of its partnership with the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO), building on its existing Freedom of Information software partnership to now include Vayle PIA, a purpose-built Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) solution designed for Canadian public sector entities and specifically localized to meet the needs of Ontario municipal entities.
PIAs help organizations identify, assess, and mitigate privacy risks across the collection, use, disclosure, retention, and protection of personal information. In Ontario, PIAs are mandatory for provincial entities in certain circumstances, and are widely encouraged as a best practice for municipalities.
Findings from Vayle’s 2025 State of FOI and Privacy Report – Ontario Municipalities Edition indicate that access to standardized PIA tools and templates is the top priority identified by municipalities for strengthening privacy programs.
Many Canadian public sector entities manage PIAs through manual, document-based processes that can be time-consuming and difficult to monitor. Vayle PIA software provides a structured, workflow-driven approach to Ontario requirements, helping municipal entities standardize PIA programs, improve collaboration across privacy, legal, IT, and program teams, and reduce administrative burden.
By embedding privacy considerations early in project design, Vayle PIA enables municipal entities to proactively manage privacy risks, support consistent decision-making, and avoid costly remediation.
